About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. Customer Review: Excellent quality Just received this item today. As you would expect from Victorinox, it is an excellent quality knife. The blade was razor sharp out of the box. Had read some reviews saying it was too large to carry in your pocket, but it’s only slightly larger than my deluxe tinker knife and it feels right at home in my jeans pocket. The main blade is easily opened with one hand but the only complaint I have for the knife lies within the locking mechanism. It is positioned to where if you’re right handed you’ll need some practice to be able to efficiently close it with one hand. The bottle opener/large screwdriver also has a locking mechanism which makes it nice to pry things open with. The wood saw is nice with a very large blade, but it’s practically impossible to open with one hand and it doesn’t lock. I also had to examine the knife closely to find where the saw is opened from (the very tip of the saw protrudes from the bottom of the knife when it’s closed). Overall, this knife keeps up the Victorinox tradition of great quality for a good price. Get this if you want a swiss army knife with more emphasis on the knife part rather than all the unnecessary extras. The only thing I would change about the knife would be to reverse the locking mechanism so it’s more right hand friendly and to possibly add a locking mechanism to the saw, but other than these two very minor complaints it’s a great buy.

My kids and I tried it and found it to make very tasty soda pop that seemed actually better than store bought (you can control the flavor and fizz). Customer Review: kildaju i definitely do not recommend this movie! it was the first of all my A.T. movies that i purchased, and by far, THE WORST! i agree with the one person at the bottom of this page that gave it a 2 or 3 star. the movie did seem like it was about four 21 year old bar buddies, romping through the woods. well, actually, about three bar buddies, b/c one of them, somehow, got ran over by a car off-screen; therefore, ending his AT thru-hike. i completed the A.T. in ‘04 and my experience was close to what you see in this movie, but God, the film could’ve been a lot better with a lot more scenery and a lot less cheesiness! the interviews are pretty well done, but i just got tired of seeing these guys filming each other most of the film. in a lot of these clips, they’re doing silly and stupid things for the camera, which took away from the film. if you’re looking for a good A.T. film to buy, i would recommend Appalachian Impressions or Walking With Freedom. Both are far better than this one.

Customer Review: A Giant Documentary I’m not a surfer, although I tried surfing once and got horribly sunburned. Until this video, that was the extent of my knowledge and interest in surfing. I caught the previews for this on the Discovery Channel and set the DVR to record it in HD. I started watching it, and my wife, who is usually not interested in this type of sports video, migrated into the living room and sat spellbound like me. The craziness of the early days of surfing, the board development, and the challenge to survive giant waves are woven into a fascinating documentary. The photography, especially shots taken from inside killer waves, is stunningly gorgeous. If you are a fan of Warren Miller ski films, this should be for you. I purchased the DVD from Amazon so I could share it with my children and friends. You really get to know the people who made the sport into an industry. The side stories really fit into the main theme very well and keep the interest at a very high level. It makes you feel like part of the family of surfers by the way you get into the lives of those who lived the surfing life. I live about 90 miles away from Half Moon Bay and when the Mavericks Surf Contest was postponed/cancelled this year, my wife and I took notice and even felt bad for the surfers who wouldn’t be able to compete this year. If you want a video that chronicles the lives of some pretty wacky people who should all be dead right now but have survived because of their inventiveness. If you want a video that will hold your interest because of the story line and inspires you with awesome photography, get this one.
